For over 118 years, Bartlett Tree Experts, a fourth-generation, family-owned business founded by Francis A. Bartlett, has been helping residential and commercial clients maximize the health and value of their landscapes. They do this through a rare mix of groundbreaking science, award-winning safety practices and the highest level of service.
A global scientific tree and shrub care company with 190 offices throughout the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Bartlett Tree Experts serves Essex County through offices in Beverly Farms and Newburyport – and is committed to supporting a strong local community.
“A strong community is one where people care for the green spaces just as much as their neighbors – and recognize the value of both,” said Kyle VanAmburg, an Arborist Representative out of Bartlett’s Beverly Farm’s office, which serves most of the North Shore. “A sense of community is important because without it we would lose a sense of shared responsibility and collective commitment to protect our environment and shared spaces.”
“People are more likely to care for one another when they feel connected to the community with a sense of belonging,” he added.
That’s why, since 2014, Bartlett has organized the Bartlett Legacy Tree Program, which focuses on environmental education and the distribution of over 50,000 tree seedlings each year to students, community groups and local reforestation efforts across the countries the company serves. Since the program’s inception, Barlett Tree Experts has distributed more than 775,000 tree seedlings.
“The goals of our Legacy Tree Program include helping young people understand the benefits of planting trees and helping local communities plant more trees in the urban landscape,” said VanAmburg.
Bartlett Tree Experts frequently engages with community leaders, land trusts, horticultural groups and nonprofit organizers who are deeply engaged in supporting the local community. That commitment to collaboration is one of the things that drew Bartlett to partner with ECCF.
“ECCF’s strong reputation and meaningful impact in Essex County is why we were inspired to support the foundation, as we share a deep commitment to community involvement,” said VanAmburg. “We strongly believe that ECCF’s work is vital to Essex County and Massachusetts as a whole.”
Bartlett Tree Experts is particularly committed to supporting local workforce development initiatives, as well as climate and environmental efforts within local communities.
“By sharing our expertise in career development and tree care master planning, we aim to make a meaningful contribution,” said VanAmburg.
The people at Bartlett Tree Experts believe that the local business sector has an important role to play moving our communities forward.
“The business sector can lead by example to create positive change in our communities, based on their area of expertise,” said VanAmburg. “By providing education and outreach to increase tree planting and environmental stewardship, companies like ours can have a unique impact.”
