building

a climate resilient Essex County

The impacts of climate change are all around us. Fortunately, organizations from every corner of our region are innovating to prepare and protect their communities. Right now, we have the opportunity to turn this work into a collective effort to strengthen our region and prepare for a climate resilient future for all of us.

Climate Resilient Essex County is a 5-year, $3 million commitment to support Essex County residents, nonprofits and communities to collaboratively build resilience, prepare for climate-related disasters and to innovate for long-term sustainability and prosperity.

Collective Vision
  • Communities that are better equipped to adapt to climate impacts.
  • All residents share access to innovations that help us thrive in a changing world.
  • Every local ecosystem – from food and housing to economic development and social services – is part of resiliency planning.
  • Essex County’s collaborative approach to tackling climate impacts becomes a model for other regions.
  • We take decisive steps toward building a regional green economy.
