Georgetown Resident Megan Burnett Formerly Worked at Biogen, The Boston Foundation
Danvers, MA — Essex County Community Foundation, a $115+ million grantmaking organization serving the 34 cities and towns of Essex County, is pleased to announce that Georgetown resident Megan Burnett has joined ECCF as the foundation’s new donor stewardship and services assistant.
In this new role, created by ECCF to raise the level of service provided to its donors, Burnett will act as the point person for onboarding new funds and managing relationships, developing new donor tools and coordinating fundholder events.
“We are so excited to welcome Megan to the ECCF team,” said Carol Lavoie Schuster, ECCF’s vice president for grants, nonprofit and donor services. “Her previous career experience and her passion for philanthropic work will prove to be an incredible asset to the foundation as we fulfill our commitment to elevate the ECCF donor experience through increased engagement and communication with our fundholders.”
Prior to joining ECCF, Burnett worked at Biogen, first as a senior associate and then as the operations manager for grants management and strategic giving at Biogen in Cambridge, where she administered a multimillion-dollar donation program and led and managed the creation and implementation of an online global grants management system. Before that, she worked for five years at The Boston Foundation, where she served as the philanthropic and donor services assistant for three years before becoming a fund administration coordinator. In this role, Burnett coordinated grant suggestions for over 600 donor advised funds, assisted donors with the set up and use of the donor portal and responded to donor fund inquiries.
“Our donors are really the backbone of the foundation and we look forward to expanding our Donor Services team in order to strengthen the partnerships that make our work so impactful and meaningful,” said ECCF President and CEO Beth Francis. “Megan is a fantastic addition to the team.”
Burnett said she looks forward to leveraging her skills and work experience for Essex County.
