The Essex County Veterans Fund

Essex County is home to over 25,000 veterans, but the current support infrastructure is not enough to meet all their needs. Right now, we have the collective opportunity to make a significant difference in the quality of life for these local heroes and their families.

Through the Essex County Veterans Fund, ECCF commits to investing $300,000 over the next two years and establishing a transformative grantmaking and capacity-building program that will strengthen nonprofits meeting the critical needs of local veterans.

But the vision reaches further. ECCF is committed to raising $5 million by 2030 to ensure that veterans in Essex County have the support, resources and opportunities they deserve for generations to come.

GRANT FOCUS AREAS

Based on the needs identified, and in alignment with ECCF’s core values, our investments will be focused on two areas: Honoring our Veterans and Serving Those Who Served Us.

Honoring Our Veterans

Grants for celebrations and community-building, memorials and advocacy, education and events designed to engage the public, especially youth, in understanding and celebrating our veterans.

Serving Those Who Served Us
Grants to expand access to basic needs and economic opportunity (food, clothing, housing, workforce training, etc.), transportation and health and wellness.
