The Women's Fund of Essex County

The Women’s Fund of Essex County is a charitable fund dedicated to improving the welfare of women and girls in Essex County. The Women’s Fund raises funds and awards grants to selected nonprofit agencies within Essex County that serve women and girls in need. Grants are awarded annually to programs within the rotating funding fields of health and well-being, leadership and empowerment, and economic self-sufficiency and security.

Since its inception, The Women's Fund has awarded over $500,000 in grants to over 70 programs targeted to women and girls in Essex County.
 

In 2003, eight visionary and passionate women created The Women’s Fund to increase resources, expand opportunities and promote positive social change for women and girls in Essex County communities. Through annual fundraising events, The Fund's Advisory Board and committees raise and distribute one- to three-year program grants to a variety of agencies throughout the County. From skills-training and employment-readiness, to promotion of health and well-being, to financial literacy, to empowerment and mentoring, The Women's Fund supports a wide range of programming targeted at helping women and girls grow stronger and more self-sufficient. We believe that strong women and girls build strong families and communities. We also believe that social change is best sustained when it begins at the community level.
