Our Work
We strengthen the county's vibrant nonprofit sector by:
- Building an endowment of charitable funds for the benefit of the 2500 nonprofits and 740,000 people that live and work here
- Providing a cost-effective, tax-efficient way for donors to invest in Essex County
- Assisting donors reach their philanthropic goals
- Assisting nonprofits in accomplishing their missions
- Making available a variety of charitable planned giving vehicles to donors and advisors
- Administering the efficient disbursement of a donor’s charitable funds, without the costs and management requirements of a private foundation
- Promoting and enabling collaboration between nonprofits and counseling their leaders in best planning, management and sustainability practices
We offer all the philanthropic, grant-making, financial, and tax expertise needed to engage in effective, inspired charitable giving. The Foundation stewards over 80 charitable funds and we have awarded nearly $8 million in grants since inception to hundreds of local organizations.
