When New Board Members Get Oriented

When New Board Members Get Oriented
Friday, July 25, 2014

Four new members have joined the ECCF Board of Trustees and on Thursday, July 24th, each arrived at our Danvers office for a two and a half hour orientation, receiving both their figurative torches and literal handbooks.

The new Trustees include Benjamin Chigier of Manchester, Benigno Espaillat of Methuen, Tracy Abedon Filosa of Ipswich, and Joe Knowles of Manchester. (Learn more about the new Trustees HERE). Peppering the ECCF staff with questions, the group was both enthusiastic and insightful.

Executive Vice President Jay Caporale began the orientation with an ECCF history lesson. The new Trustees gained an in-depth understanding of our roots as well as our current standing with over $25M in assets under management and giving. CEO Dave Welbourn shared our mission and Vice President Julie Bishop described our various programs, functions and types of funds. Already stepping into their leadership roles, the new Trustees weren’t hesitant to ask and comment in ways that went straight to the heart of what the ECCF does.

It was a great orientation with stimulating conversation. We look forward to our next board function in the fall and the chance for Ben, Tracy, Benny and Joe to interact with the rest of the ECCF’s Trustees. —Carissa Collins, summer intern
