The Service Dog Project (SDP) provides a better quality of life for the mobility impaired. SDP has donated over 115 Great Danes as service dogs to individuals who have severe balance limitations. The Service Dog Project is a registered 501c3 and is fully accredited by Assistance Dogs International. We give preference to Veterans and their families. Our working service dogs have been placed with children, war veterans, individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Friedreich’s Ataxia and more. While each dog receives extensive training for balance, we like to consider our dogs educated, so once a dog is paired with an applicant the dog continues to adjust to the needs of their partner. These dogs provide a valuable service and have enhanced the quality of life for their owners. Our mission is to train Great Danes for people with balance and mobility limitations. By providing these dogs at no cost to approved applicants we extend a valuable service to suitable individuals.
