Welcome!

Essex County Community Foundation is a financial home for donors interested in local philanthropy. We make it easy to  set up funds which can then be used to distribute meaningful grants to nonprofit organizations in the county.

Essex County, MA includes some of America's oldest colonial cities and seaports, like Gloucester, Beverly and Salem.  There are mill cities once booming in the industrial age that are now going through a painful but exciting rebirth as vibrant cultural centers. There are classic New England villages and farms and one of the most beautiful coastlines in the country with its beaches, islands, marshes and rocky headlands.

Operating within this special place, to preserve our heritage and serve our people is the nonprofit sector. Comprising a vibrant 12% of the county's economy, these 2,500 organizations fill societal needs in every facet of life including education, arts, health, social services, economic development, protecting the environment, historical preservation and ensuring the safety and encouragement  of our youth.
