Adelante Inc./Lawrence Youth Center Offer middle school students a six-week program of stimulating learning activites that exercise their minds and bodies and prepares them for success in the school year ahead. $5,000.00
American Training Co. Train and certify 80 inner-city high school students between the ages of 14-18 in adult and pediatric CPR/First Aid and Automated Externail Defibrillation (AED). $7,000.00
Andover Youth Service Offer a wide variety of trips, advenutres camps, clinics, services, the skate park, and extended trips for young people 11-18. $3,000.00
Arlington Community Trabajando, Inc. Provide opportunities for low to moderate income youth to engage in positive summer activities. The curriculm provides 16 hours per week of fun-filled educational activities including television production and community events organizing. $7,000.00
Asian Center of Merrimack Valley Provide over 60 children ages 4 through 12  of classes in science, reading, writing, math and art to reinforce and enrich thier education. $2,100.00
Blessed Stephen Bellesini, O.S.A. Academy Provide a four week summer program to maintain and expand upon the school year academic achievements, to provide a safe, structured and fun environment for students and to expand student's awareness of the world around them through field trips, guest speakers and service learning. $7,500.00
Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence Hire 16 counselors (past members) and make it possible for 80 youngsters to enjoy a safe and fun-filled summer at the Club. $10,000.00
Brooks School Develop campers both physically and socially while they enjoy a variety of recreational and creative experiences. $4,000.00
Camp Starfish, Inc. Provide one to one camper to counselor ration to youngsters to a summer of learning, growing, friendships and fun. $4,000.00
Challenge Unlimited Provide for the children from the inner city of Lawrence with and without disabilities to learn team work, meet children from a variety of backgrounds, learn about respect and caring for others through their work with horses, and have a chance to relax and appreciate the outdoors in an encouraging environment. $7,000.00
The Children's Center Provide field trips to special educational and entertaining places for the children as well as offering the children to participate in creative workshops. $5,000.00
Communities Together Provide a value-centered program for young children of all faiths, races and ethnicity in greater Lawrence. $4,000.00
Community Day Charter Public School Help students maintain academic gains achieved during the regular school year that are often lost during summer vacation and the problem faced by many economically disadvantaged working families who cannot afford the cost of tuition for summer camps. $4,500.00
Easter Seals Offer children with disabilities that do not have the social and recreational opportunities that their non-disabled peers do. $4,000.00
Emmanuel Gospel Center Offer a summer SAT preparation course to rising seniors at Lawrence High School, Notre Dame High School and other schools in the city. $4,000.00
Esperanza Academy, Inc. Fund staff salaries, camperships, tuitions, transportation and marterials costs to enable a three-week summer program for all 80 students. $7,500.00
Essex Art Center Provide afternoon art classes for seven weeks, 4 day art camps and art material to students from 3 to adult. $7,000.00
Family Service, Inc. Provide 40 students from Lawrence to participate in day activities such a biking on the Cape Cod Canal, hiking through local conservation land, kayaking, and canoeing, and a four day three night extended trip to the White Mts of New Hampshire. $6,000.00
Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program To assistance with the new summer staff training and to cover the cost of providing free memberships to low-moderate imcone families. $16,500.00
Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Provide children between the ages of 5 and 15 activities that promotes preservation of the family unit in a society where drugs and violence are a part of everyday life. $0.00
Groundwork Lawrence Support implementation of the Green Team programming, which provides unique, environmental hands-on employment and learning opportunities for at-risk Lawrence youth aged 14-18 $7,500.00
Lawrence Community Works, Inc. Support Movement City with outdoor art projects, music, dance and a health/fitness component. $6,500.00
Lawrence Family Development Charter School Address the multiple barriers to educational success experienced by many of the students enrolled at school. $9,000.00
Lawrence Public Library Provide a series of seven free performances of musicians, artists, magicians, storytellers and nature exhibits as well as a variety of other educational or artistic programs aimed at preschool and primary school audiences. $2,270.00
Lawrence Public School, Summer Meals Program Provide salaries for 2 bus drivers to deliver well balanced, nutritious meals to community agencies throughout the City of Lawrence. $3,500.00
Lawrence Recreation Department Provide recreation to the city's youth during their summer school vacation which include: nerf football, whiffle ball, double Dutch jump rope, sailing field trips, and parachute games as well as free lunch. $5,000.00
Merrimack College Serve low-income, at-risk urban youth from the Greater Lawrence area in coaching them a combination of social, athletic and academic skills encouraging them to stay in school and away from crime, to go on to college, and to become responsible members of their communities. $4,000.00
Merrimack Valley Community Service Corps Provide recreational and educational activities to the children of the neighborhood. $1,000.00
Merrimack Valley YMCA - Lawrence Branch Provide educational and recreational program that combines reading, writing, and math skills with sports activities, crafts, field trips and swim lessons. $8,000.00
Merrimack Valley YMCA - Methuen Branch A combined a schedule of both educational and recreational activities for children, 50% low-income, diverse cultural backgrounds. $6,000.00
Merrimack Valley YMCA-Administrative Offices Allow 12 Greater Lawrence youth to attend Day Camp Otter over the course two sessions (or two weeks). $4,000.00
Methuen Arlington Neighborhood inc Assist in implementing youth programming such as crafts, sports, field trips and camp activites. $7,000.00
MSPCA Share lifetime lessons of compassion, responsibility and respect for all living things through discussions, arts, crafts, songs, games and hands-on care of animals awaiting homes. $1,000.00
North Andover Historical Society Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of Essex County, with emphasis on the Greater Lawrence area. $1,000.00
North Shore Youth Symphony Orchestra, Inc Provide Lawrence violin students with two opportunities to continue their study over the summer. $500.00
Northeast Independent Living To learn about the uniqueness and similarities of each other's disabilities, their own strengths and limitations, and how to use the Independent Living skills learned during the year to overcome barriers to independence. $4,000.00
Northern Essex Community College To secure summer camp scholarship funds for financially disadvantaged students, ages 10-13, to attend College for Kids, a summer enrichment program. $3,000.00
Notre Dame High School Support for 30 new students with the academic challenges faced by the incoming 9th grade students, the majority of whom are academically at-risk, performing up to three years below grade level in mathematics and/or English. $5,000.00
Phillips Academy ABL Enhance student writing skills and literacy and to improve the teaching of writing in urban public schools. $3,000.00
Phillips Academy PALS Offer academic enrichment, study skills, career exploration, and guidance in high school choices to 7th and 8th grade students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. $4,800.00
Pingree School For an academic enrichment program for thirty-five public school students from Lawrence who have successfully completed the seventh grade, the program enables students to sharpen their analytical, verbal and written skills. $6,000.00
Si, Se Puede, Inc. Provide high quality educational and recreational opportunities to low-income, urban youth. $4,500.00
St. Ann's Home and School Make available a summer camp experience for six weeks for a residential student, i.e. the students who live at St. Ann's full -time. $6,500.00
Windrush Farm Therapeutic Equitation, Inc. Offer horseback riding camp for disadvantaged, inner city children who would not otherwise have such an opportunity. $4,000.00
Youth Development Organization, Inc. Provide after school city-wide enrichment programs for Lawrence students and to offset necessary transportation expenses and camp registration and tuition costs. $7,500.00
YWCA of Greater Lawrence Serve educationally and economically disadvantaged, inner-city, minority children between the ages of 6-13 with a leadership program for 14-15 year olds. $5,000.00
